In today's Daily News, Betty Hinton says "I don't own a place in Ottawa. I've never owned a place in Ottawa."
So when she's working so hard for her constituents, does she stay in a hotel? Maybe she checks into a hostel?
Doesn't look that way ... Betty also says the rumor we reported was partly true because "I do have a house up for sale in Kamloops." The article says she's "looking to buy a larger home in Kamloops." That must be nice. All Kamloopsians would probably like a bigger place, and at least our Member of Parliament can afford one at a time when 23.5% of British Columbia's children are living in poverty (Statistics Canada), we don't have the airport expansion, adequate pine beetle help, and on and on. Betty should take her new-house money and donate it to all the people who have suffered from her three terms of misrepresentation.

I think you should leave Betty's housing situation out of the blog. She is a terrible MP so stick with that focus otherwise this blog will simply be viewed as frivolous. In my opinion the only way she can be beaten is if there is one clear strong candidate from either the Liberals or NDP. Otherwise the opposition vote will continue to split and she will continue to come up the middle.
I bet she flys first class too ITs not as bad as Harper handing over 200MILLION over to afghanistan for humanitarian aide.

Seems as if lurkers on these boards say they have lost interest, yet they still read and still post. They say no one is interested, yet this site has registered over 5000 hits.
I wasnt aware that conservatives knew how to operate computers. I would think they are too busy hunting gays with unregistered fire arms or standing in line for the early bird special at the Pantry.
If people dont like the heat then get out of the kitchen.Our political system is a national joke and somebody needs to tell the truth,not keep politally correct over sensitive nitwits happy.Basically laws are passed,these guys come in claim that they can change what we dont like,get elected,then sit on their fat asses and do nothing but blow sunshine up our rear ends.They tickle ears to get what they want and it has to stop.
Quite frankly I'm sick of these parents who want childcare covered.I am a child care provider,unlicenced.I charge 5$ per hour for 1-2 children and people get upset.TOO DAMN BAD.PEOPLE WANT THEIR KIDS BABYSAT FOR NOTHING.That tells me that 1,they dont value their children and 2,they dont believe that taking care of kids is real work. 3,they give complete disregard to the fact that kids can and do ,do damage to a home.Why should tax payers have to foot the bill.If youre going to have kids then bloody well take care of them.If people expect to pay what amounts to pennies then expect to get what you pay for.If people put so little value on their kids then dont expect others to value your kids.Child care is a real job and as far as I'm concerned child care providers should be getting 10$ an hour.Single moms should be given a break on child care.However these people who have two incomes just because they want a nice lifestyle...too damn bad,they shouldnt get a dime.

Well there is no first Class coming into Kamloops or Kelowna i can tell you that, but I did notice her on my plane once and she made it very clear she was not to be disturbed: her little nose pressed to the window and her back to everyone the whole time.
For someone who is doing a great job, and loves her riding, you would think a smile instead of hiding would have been more... PM like?
as for the funding for humanitarian aid... we give over 3 billion a year to Israel, so 200 million to people who need it is really not that much!
What a shocking list of crimes committed by our MP:
1.Liked to look out the window while on a plane.
2.Wont give out her cell phone number.
3.Put her house up for sale.
4.Doesnt cough up money on demand when she didnt campaign to get those funds.

I did not say looking out the window was a crime, but for someone who constantly boast of her position/power/influence and what she does for her constituents (read todays Betting Hinton News letter in the mail) I just find her ACTIONS CONTRADICT what she SAYS (or how she sees herself)

Crimes...sins...whatever. You were accusing her of unacceptable conduct but because she conducts herself beyond reproach and works very hard, you are reduced to inflating trivial incidents which make you look silly and grasping.
The people who are helped daily through her office dont complain. The government thinks she has done a good job. This is simply part of a political campaign to reduce her popularity by smear tactics based on nothing.
On another topic, it doesnt make sense to me that under Kyoto, the second biggest producer of carbon emissions in the world, China, doesnt have to reduce its emissions at all. I've been told its because they divide the amount of pollution by population. If that's true it seems very odd. Arent we worried about the total carbon emmissions, not how much goes out per person?

Crimes or whatever, she only makes eye contact when she wants my vote. I can see someones point on her actions and dont think it was attacking anyone. Someone made a comment about her behavior in a city council meeting (on another entry) and i guess this would be consistent- shes not so good with people part of her job. instnt that important to politicians anymore?
