Shabby campaign tactics begin

The Daily News reported today that one of Betty Hinton's taxpayer-funded assistants bought the www.michaelcrawford.ca domain name, clearly in order to prevent the NDP candidate from setting up a normal campaign website. Kevin Skrepnek, a recent arrival in Kamloops barely out of high school works at Hinton's constituency office and is paid by Parliament, not the Conservatives.
Skrepnek's blog, skrepnek.blogspot.com, includes doctored images of prominent Canadian politicians and cartoons with racist overtones.
Crawford is demanding return of the domain and says he has grounds to file a complaint with the Canadian Internet Registration Authority.
Betty, who belongs to a Party that ran on a law-and-order platform, will obviously stop at nothing to sabotage her opponents by any means.

Ahh, so now we see the ghost-like Crawford reveal his true colors. Insulted as a young man barely out of high school outwits him, he screams for the loss of the youngster's livelihood....nice going, Mr. Holier than Thou.

No wonder Betty hired him:

The jap cartoon was rather funny.Has anyone noticed the scarry simmilarity between that Giles duceppe idoit and Bib fortuna from starwars.Just a thought.

In the grey concrete post Soviet mental architecture of a Crawford, there is no place for a sense of humour and a bright, if overenthusiastic, youngster like Kevin....sad, really.

I wonder if Betty has a young group of political science co-eds working on web pages and posting comments to defend her, for the life of me I can not understand why a grown man or woman, who can read, to actually defend her and ignore her claims.

We all know if it were a liberal, or NDP candidate she would be up in arms and so would everyone else, throwing righteous stones for the faux pas (that is don't do for those who do not understand french).

If you can not attribute this behaviour, from a veteran MP, who through constant gloating in a poor attempt at "intimidating" other party member with her status within the conservative government, as a direct result of delusional grandeur... i fear it says more about her constituents than it does her!

It certainly seems to be the case with this post as well.

Let me simplfy:

To the person that wrote comment 2 and 5 (obvisoulsy the same person)

1. Are you being paid?

2. Is your name Kevin S. ?

3. Do you actually believe that BS you are spouting?

Did anyone actually read Skrepnek's blog? Carolyn Parrish should die? She gets appendicitis and he declares it a "start?" This is not the silly antics of a high-school child. This is fanaticism at its worst and to blow it off by condemning those who brought it to light is to speak volumes about yourselves.

And ask yourself this question; Why did Hinton hire him? Maybe she likes his "sense of humour?"

Ask yourself this:

Michael Crawford, NDP torchbearer and holier-than-thou professor at TRU needs to assure us that in the last two years when he has been campaigning non-stop, and while his salary is partially tax payer funded has never engaged in partisan acts during working hours at TRU.....such as:

-responding to media calls about political issues
-working on or sending political emails, faxes, or press releases
-attending political rallies or rallies against the federal government policies
-speaking to students or other professors about partisan political issues
etc. etc etc.

Perhaps some of the press may care to follow up and ask questions about these possibilities.

Well, Crawford was at the daycare rally at city hall during a work day

The term ‘rat fucking’ came to mind as I read this post (young republicans used this term to describe sabotaging actions taken against Democrats) and can almost understand this young mans actions- if you want Canadian politics to mirror those of the U.S.A

fortunately, that we know of, the NDP and or Liberal candidates here in Kamloops have not resorted to this type of behaviour, for if they did it would be just as news worthy and right to point out and I am sure they would take action to fix the problem as Hinton has.

I don’t dismiss his actions, he is young and just out of high school, but if we take a look at his mentor are we really to be surprised? If we look at the conduct of this particular Conservative party, is this not almost expected? The good news for this particular young man is he is the future, and I am sure he could round up enough votes somewhere in BC or Alberta. Betty Hinton has demanded he give back the domain name, and let’s hope she can keep a closer eye on her employees as Harper does on his party members.

I think the BIG difference here is that his staff members have not gone out of their way to purchase a domain name in an attempt to stop another candidate of the opposition or taken other actions.

He is not however an employee of the FEDERAL government or a government official- your attempts at implying he is somehow beholden to the tax payer while working is a stretch (teachers do not use their offices like other professionals do)

so should the cop on call not stop to get a donut and coffee or take personal calls while on the tax payer clock?

I could care less if Hinton's group uses office computers to play solitaire or if anyone on the 'job' that is partially funded or fully by the federal or provincial government did. The point here is that this young man, not Hinton, went out of his way to disrupt someone for political reasons... im sure it was his 99 cents that bought it and not Hinton's.

Just to try to be non partisan for a moment....There is a huge gap between what 20 year olds think is acceptable and what 50 year olds think is okay. Back in the seventies, it was called the generation gap. The 20 year olds have no real power, so they will get it in the neck....guaranteed.

That is really the truth: Hinton and Crawford forge on but this kid is screwed.

Anonymous said...

If this Skrepneck kid had any decency, repesct for his job and who he works for, he would resign

Anonymous said...

Resign, get fired, chased by a howling mob of villagers with torches....same thing. The kid will pay while the grownups play.

Crawford should be real proud of himself. He screws up and a young man pays the price. Crawfords lucky that Kevin worked for the MP...if it was a private citizen he'd never get the name back!!

A nice young bigot looking at his blog .Hey Betty quit wasting my tax dollars and Craford quit whining ya baby.God all our politicians ar pathetic no wonder our country's being sold down the river so fast

This sorry excuse for a human is a neocon monster in training.
Betty the bag is so far down the food chain that they don't even feed her anymore.
Stevie Harpo would make Atilla the Hun blush, this guy would sell his grandmother for dog food to get back in power. If he does God help us.

ah the conservative have lowered the class bar on this one, i dont think they know what class means.

I would not be surprised if it was Neo-Conservative writing that themselves.

Give me liberty or give me death!

But listen, if I had to live in a world run by the Miss Grundy types who crank the wheels of the New Democratic and Autocratic and Hypocritic Party, I'd most certainly rather be dead.

The NDP killed BC, they killed Ontario, but by gum, they wont get in to kill Canada!

The neocons are starting to froth at the mouth, they know the end is near for "Betty the Bag". Anyone who would stand up for this sorry excuse of an MP musr be from Alberta or the dark side of the moon.

Yes, you are right. Thank goodness the bright light of the Crawford sun is rising over our City. Soon no Child will be able to retain a job or reputation if they quote a comedian on their private web site, soon the representative in Ottawa will be toothless tiger who will flim flam the locals with all sorts of useless press but no real results, soon we will have a technological moron handling our affairs, even one who doesnt know his name is publically up for sale......ahhhh, cant wait!!!!
