Krueger to Hinton: "Wake up"

On February 1, the Daily News published an interview with Kamloops-North-Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger – who is quick to call himself a friend and supporter of Betty Hinton – in which he predicted her defeat in the next election. "I think Betty is going to lose her seat over this ridiculous quibbling," he said, referring to Hinton's stand on the pine beetle infestation. Krueger also criticized our federal representative for suggesting that B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell should ask the Prime Minister to call a national emergency. "I think this veiled threat where Betty Hinton says [Harper] might not like the result is just a nasty thing to say."

Way to go Kevin, MS Hinton deserves the kick you gave her. She has been more than useless on the airport and close to the same on the tree bug kill.

Kevin brings our message to government in Victoria and useless Betty sits on her hands. SHAME.

You aren't "useless" if you tell the truth, whether people like it or not.

BC Minister Rich Coleman said in Kamloops This Week (Feb 2) that the Campbell government will not be asking that the pine beetle problem be declared a state of emergency and it will not be paying to remove trees from private property.

When we had the wildfires, Premier Campbell did ask PM Chretien to make such a declaration because lives were endangered.

Whatever happened to the days when neighbours would pitch in and help a fellow Kamloopsian if he or she needed help taking down a tree? Are we losing our sense of community here? Something is wrong with this picture and its not fair to point to Betty only.

Let us all remind ourselves that many people will blame their own shortcommings on a public figure. In this case the Member of Parliament.

I find it funny how when you analyze the whole situation with the airport, almost every official working on the project has, in one way, botched the project.

Civic officials - Not filling out the proper paper work to apply for funding as well as noncompliance due to personal issues with an opposing political rival

Federal (our MP) - noncompliance due to personal issues with an apposing political rival

So, in the end, all we can do is blame everyone because the issue of no cash isn't on the shoulders of one person...political partisanship is the wonderful discipline where we will blame the "other side" because our side is the best and can never do wrong!

The boombox goes off...so what would possess Kevin to go off like this? Is it ambition? Is he seeking conflict? Is he invincible? I personally believe Kevin often suffers from "Foot-In-Mouth" disease, he's famous for it. So now he's lashing out at other politicians? I'm sorry, but does anyone give this man credence?

To the last post:
Seems like he gets a lot of just that - credence. He's been getting reelected for a decade. Maybe people in Kamloops like politicians who speak their mind, or, as you described it, put their foot into their mouths.

That's just beautiful Krueger...typical Liberal hogwash. Tell the world she won't get re-elected (stab, stab) but with the other hand rub her back and tell her she's your friend?? Take a stand on SOMETHING for once!

The worlds most useless politician criticizing the worlds second worst politician....how melodramatic.

How about Bill C-257 Ms. Hinton? If you can't (won't) take a stand on Mountain Pinebeetle, how about helping to protect the rights of Canadian workers??

DO SOMETHING!!!

Sure, lets teach her the useful things that can be done with the incantation: ABBRA CADDABRA!

Interesting eh? Krueger wins elections despite being smashed in the media. Hinton wins 3 elections in 5 years despite being vilified in the media. Maybe the media is out to lunch.

Minister of MInes!!!

Take that you varmits!!

Junior Minister you mean? He's there because he's the biggest yes-man that ever donned an ugly tie. I think he should hook-up with Betty Hinton...what a match! They could have their own TV show on CFJC....The Teflons. Nothing sticks to 'em. I didn't say that. I never told them that. I wasn't there. I wasn't involved in those decisions....etc..etc..perfect. Just make sure they get a pay raise.
