After the recent storm of criticism against her, Betty Hinton appears to have gone underground. She's gone several days now without commenting on local or national affairs. Maybe it was the Maclean's article about her dishonesty that made her go silent. Then again, maybe she just doesn't have anything to say.

The election is coming and the nastiness and slander of the NDP will be revealed to all.
Betty will win again.
I think the train you hear is the "change" train. The people out here that don't say a lot but we all know one thing.....we won't be voting for Betty again....that's for sure.

I wonder if Betty has a young group of political science co-eds working on web pages and posting comments to defend her, for the life of me I can not understand why a grown man or woman, who can read, to actually defend her and ignore her claims.
We all know if it were a liberal, or NDP candidate she would be up in arms and so would everyone else, throwing righteous stones for the faux pas (that is don't do for those who do not understand french).
If you can not attribute this behaviour, from a veteran MP, who through constant gloating in a poor attempt at "intimidating" other party member with her status within the conservative government, as a direct result of delusional grandeur... i fear it says more about her constituents than it does her!

Bring on Crawford. Since he will be part of a non-governing party, the entire NDP caucus will actually be lower in power than the lowest Conservative backbencher!!

I can say that I don't vote for the NDP in Kamloops- and its not against Crawford, im sure hes a 'nice guy', but I tend to look at the whole party, not just the person, and a national scale not just local.
my voting record varies, depending where i live, and it would surprise you to know that conservatives out east and west have great differences and mandates. So what is conservative out West is not the Case out east.
And i may come off as superior or pompous, but I assure you that is because i have an opinion, and I have an education that requires constant use of logic that allows me to understand what I am reading.
Does not matter to me who votes for who and what party, and everyone can say as they wish. We have learned that Hinton does in fact employ students (that also leave messages in blogs), it does not change the fact that HER comments were out of line, regardless of what party she is from. I am confident I do hold this standard to all Canadian politicians.
My form of logic allows me to look at individual politicians and their actions and come to a personal opinion as to how I feel. If voters can not just say 'wow, that might have been wrong' as others do (or dont) with other candidates instead of just rushing to overlook the implications in some kind of out dated sense of unification and loyalty, then perhaps they are not suited to use logic beyond its immediate purpose in every day life: plastic or paper.
I dont care who you vote for, if you rush to defend her actions I stand firm that this says just as much about YOU as it does her.
