This is the Conservative Party.

March 8 was International Women's Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the rights of women and the importance of women's issues. On that day while Betty Hinton was busy praising Minister Bev Oda's rearrangement of the Status of Women Canada budget (yes, Oda was the one who spent $5000 a day on limos during the Junos and removed the word "equality" from the Status of Women mandate), Kevin Skrepnek (see post titled Shabby campaign tactics begin), posted the following words on his profile at Facebook.com:

"I'm the baddest motherfucker of all time, the best singer, the best lookin' motherfucker- hold my drink, bitch."

Skrepnek's defenders rightly pointed out that this is a quote from comedian Dave Chappelle's TV show, but does that matter?
This came just after CFJC did a story on Skrepnek in which MP Betty Hinton defended his prior actions with the Michael Crawford site.

As of today Skrepnek's blog was gone from the Internet. Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Voters for Change calls for Hinton to fire Skrepnek. He is an embarrassment to the community and to all young people.

That's a quote from a television show, you fools.

Anonymous said...

The people who run this blog are too stupid to know that. They have never conversed with a young person in their life, listened to hip hop lyrics, been invited to join someone's group on facebook....all of which makes them eminently qualified to be professors at TRU

Ahhh, ignorance is bliss....too bad its your own.

By the way, the bitch refers to a man.

Vote NDP and kill Freedom of Speech!

Anonymous said...

I think David Chappelle, when he said those words, was asking Crawford to hold his drink.

Anonymous said...

So essentially you're arguing for censorship of an employee's personal site?

PS, bitch does not refer to women in that quote.

Wow.

Skrepnek is a fine example of the neocons, aka Reform,CRAP,Allance, and now dressed up in Conservayive clothing from the hi-jacking of the old progresive consevative party."Where is Betty" obviously knew what this moron stood for when she hired him.Just one more reason why Betty will punted into oblivion come the next election.

And Crawford is a fine example of boring pompous "I know what's good for you" types who dont understand our fundamental freedoms or why people died in battle to defend them.

Anonymous said...

Typical NDP - they think freedom of speech is the freedom for you to say anything they agree with. I fear for our country in the unlikely event that they ever take power.

Anonymous said...

But they are relentless....

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I didnt think this comment had anything to do with the NDP, Conservative or Liberal Party. It was a comment made by a young man who is employed by a female MP and the day is of special significance- so is the statement.

What is funny is that he made this comment AFTER Hinton requested he return the domain name to Crawford, clearly she did not mention the importance of online behaviour to her staff.

what ever you say online that your name/image is attached too does matter! Employers search online for names and information and images- students in north America (and elsewhere in the world) are being held accountable for what they said online. Students are not being interviewed, denied job security... and really we all know about online bloggers who have been fired from very prominent positions due to what was said in their online web logs.

and hip hop is how you get your information on sexist and derogatory remarks? Just because you didnt go to school or get in, no need to lash out at those who choose to do so, its all about options! Just let your doctor know how you feel the next time you see him in regards to his higher learning... i mean really its not like YOU need to benefit from someone who has it.

Humm i think you have it all wrong when you say this comment is made to a man. you need to watch more Dave Chappelle

if he didnt do anything wrong why is his site gone?

the " ARMCHAIR MAYOR" wrote about this on Saturday march 10th and how people should really laugh at themselves more. This poor kid is currently "out of town for a couple of weeks” and not answering his cellphone (DNO) but AM did made a similar point above: "in the world of politics, your words live after you" for such a young man with hope of taking part in future politics i hope he still has a chance and sorry he learned the hard way.

[To the person above do you have any recent news about employers looking over the internet on potential employees? I had no idea this happened and I have a couple of kids I should let know.thnx]

This blog is an example of freedom of speech....even if I dont agree, I believe in freedom of speech. People are going to be fired because they use the f word or b word? Like Trudeau and fuddle duddle or middle finger extended. Ever listen to Buzz Hargrove? Ever had a private conversation with a good old union fellow as he talks about how he feels about the employer? Gimme a break.

Does anyone remember the freedom of speech movement in the 60's that began at Berkley? or how Lenny Bruce was prosecuted and persecuted?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone else find it ironic that a young man, with the courage of his convictions, should be pilloried in this space? Here we have (in this blog) a pointy political stick, continually poking conservatives in the eye, moderated by ANNONYMOUS lefties, criticising all things conservative...and this is commendable? Meanwhile a young man posts what he believes (rightly or wrongly) and puts it under his own name and you have the staggering, unmittigated gall to criticize him? Your cowardly colors are showing through here in spades. If you want the right to criticize others by name, have the courage to share yours. Otherwise STFU you chickens**t weasles.

When is Michael Crawford and the Council of Canadians going to own up to operating this blog?

Anonymous said...

Union: yes I have spent time with union members and have listened to them talk and swear, good point, but they are not running for office or claim to want a future in politics, working for a government official and often are brought up on complaints in regards to racism, sexism and incentives remarks when they are made in public. but I think your use of the word private says enough.

You had my vote till I noticed you didn't sign with your name either while calling people names. Lefties or not, everyone here has something they want to say and I am glad to live in a country where we have the options of doing so anonymously.. hope the kid makes his next blog that way.

apologies above comment mixed two messages and didnt intend to imply the Berkley commentator called people names. But I still think his point was well made.

sorry about that

No problem...I just find it fustrating that when we were young and idealistic we were going to stop all this censorship stuff, and to divert a bit, stop the persecution of gay people, of minorities, stop jailing people for victimless crimes like marijuana possession, and instead we have people from a party that purports to be the leading edge of liberalism ratting out a young man's face book postings and blogs to the media, and then calling out that he should lose his job...all stemming from his temerity of buying up michaelcrawford.com or ca on his own time with his own money. It is just so fustrating that in the lust for power there seems to be no room for respect for our fundamental freedoms in politics....just harsh jousting for the slightest political advantage even if you screw up a young kids life!

Anonymous said...

And you wonder why the general public hates politians? It's stuff like this! The campaign should be about what the politians have to offer, not about what a student employee writes on his facebook or myspace.

Anonymous said...

hahahaha

"...I just find it frustrating that when we were young and idealistic we were going to stop all this censorship stuff, and to divert a bit, stop the persecution of gay people, of minorities, stop jailing people for victimless crimes like marijuana possession.."

Then why the hell do people vote conservative???

In fact why would a young person even conceivably consider them self conservative? (if not for family/peer influence?)

It makes no sense. And by the way, the Council of Canadians is one of the most respectable organisations in Canada.

Anonymous said...

Why?

Because no political party will give you everything you want.

If you dont like government corruption you'd vote against the Liberals; if you dont like the all powerful state and "central planning" you vote against the NDP. If you dont like law and order you vote against the Conservatives.

No one has a monopoly on righteousness, not even you or the "Council of Self-important and Divinely Guided Canadians".

Oh so I see - just copying a vulgar offensive inappropriate line from whoever it is actually quoted from makes it all okay. You are bending this all over the place. This kid has no concept of decency. If my kids were to ever come close to the crap he posted (which appears to be removed now) online, I would teach them a lesson.
Bottom Line: he was out of line and should be taught a lesson.

Anonymous said...

By the way, your kids let you see what they want you to see....given your atitude, they dont show you much!

Think back to when you were young , my friend!

Anonymous said...

"Bottom Line: he was out of line and should be taught a lesson. "

Yes, lets get him fired and ruin his name! That'll teach the little snot to express himself.

That'll teach him to make Crawford look like a fool.....let me, Michael Crawford ascend to power on the backs of humiliated and unemployed youth....that'll teach them a thing or two!!

The young people today are too damn stupid to be able to comment on anything. They cant run their own lives let alone get involved in politics. If it were up to them there would be free booze, free sex, crappy music piped onto the street, the F word on every street sign, gays running the country and abortion clinics on every corner. Skrepnek should be horse whipped.Theres nothing wrong with free speech. However, there is something wrong with stupidity. There is something called self control and modesty, something that young people today know nothing about because most of the little monsters were raised by daycares.

We constantly hear on the news about the so-called doctor shortage. Is there really,or do we have an abundance of stupid people.I dont know how many times Ive been to the walk in clinic only to be faced with snotty noses and kids barfing. These things dont need doctors. All youre doing is stressing the kid with an unneccesary exam and SPREADING DISEASE.If people would learn some basic first aid and learn the symptoms of serious illness, doctors offices would be practically empty.I have seen people in emergency with broken pinky fingers, when are people going to learn that you cant put a cast on broken fingers and toes. My Brother in law went to the hospital for a twisted ankle,he waited for 3 hours only to be told to put ice on it. If he knew basic first aid then he would have known that if you CANT put ANY weight on a foot at all then its sprained. If you CAN put weight on it,even a tiny bit, then put ice on it. I'm begining to think that first aid should be a mandatory requirement for graduation. The ignorance has got to stop.I dont know how many times I have overheard parents planning to take their kids to a doctor for colds. Doctors cannot fix colds.Unless your child has an ABNORMALLY high fever with other SEVERE symptoms the child is fine and will get over the virus in a few days. I know a woman who let he daughter miss school and dragger her to a doctor for a bleeding nose. How stupid are people going to get.She got a first aid lesson from her doctor. What a waste of tax payers dollars. If people are going to do that then they should have to pay CASH. A barfing kid needs to be at home in bed.Give them Gravol,Tylenol and plenty of fluids.Take the time to educate yourself on what the symptoms are of severe illness. Have we been brainwashed to believe that doctors are gods to the point that we no longer have common sence. If the kid isnt having unusual or severe symptoms then the kid doesnt need to be dragged to a doctor putting a strain on the system.Kids get viruses, that is a fact. 98% of those bugs dont need a doctor.

Its agaist Betty it must be a NDP blog fuck i'm sick of hearing that over and over Thats all you Cons can come up with ?What exactly is you postion on the SPP and NAU?Your good at shooting off your mouths about non issues what about the future of our country ?Strangely silent on this one.

Anonymous said...

OK cranky dipper boy, what's your position on the UN's Agenda 21? As a card carrying conservative I'm four square against both SPP and TCC. However I recognize the larger threat which is Agenda 21 (google it). You might notice your party completely supports it. At least the yanks have made money while selling their souls, the staggering corruption at the UN has to be seen first hand to believe. This is the king the NDP want to swear fealty to, the global technocrats no one elects and no one can punt from office. At least the old reform wing of the CPC recognizes the sanctity of sovereignty and the rights of freemen. I'll take an ideology based on the golden rule as opposed to post modern nihlism anyday.

Anonymous said...

Ya know, when I see the crap that goes on with youth and this latest riot in vancouver.I'm really not that opposed to police brutality. Those stupid little shits deserve a good beating.

Anonymous said...

well, im not the "cranky dipper boy" but i was interested so i looked up agenda 21. It looks ok to me, i mean unless you have a problem with protecting the environment and helping to stop climate change. Which, as a young person who would like the planet to be habitable for the next seventy years (at least), seem like admirable goals to me. but its 900 pages i might of missed something.

so what exactly is your concern about agenda 21, do you have any references or links i could look at?

Dear "not cranky dipper boy",

the first steps you have to take are: reconsidering your assumptions, and second, understand how you came to hold your "beliefs". Unless and until you accept that you have been duped for profit and sold a bill of goods about the nature of man you can not escape the net we are trapped in and the economic zero sum endgame currently being played out(currently being fostered by the Un as globalism). I caution you though that once you start down the path of reason and logic and realize that freedom is both messy and difficult to maintain, your world will change.

The first resource I would recommend is John Taylor Gatto. A one time award winning educator, he saw that what was was sold to teachers as curriculem was in fact a tool to dumb down a generation and offer the illusion of education, as opposed to teaching the capacity to think and reason. For more on that subject I also refer you to Beverly Eakman.

To understand the nature of the human market place the intellectual tour de force, "Man Economy and State" by Murray Rothbard is a good primer. It is derived from the far more difficult to read "Human Action" by Luwig Von Mises (see mises.org).

As counter-balance to agenda 21 spend some time at freedom21.org. As you review the material there and find yourself wanting to shout at the screen, review your emotional responses as they arise. Ask yourself if this natural. consider the possiblity your visceral reaction may be merely a Pavlovian response.

When your stomach and emotions settle review the work of Joan Veon...get some gravol. Go to Ed Griffin's freedomforceinternational.org, read and watch the videos. watch Aaron Russo's "From Freedom to Fascism" on google video.

You have to recognize that when some says "Hi, I'm here from the government to help", that is the exact analogue to "the cheque is in the mail". I think it was Franklin who said he who will sacrifice liberty for security desrves neither and will soon lose both. I've just given you a 12 month assignment if you are dilligent and sincere. That should give the basis to embark on your own journey of learning, not the fast-food crap that passes for knowledge today.

We know who started this blog. It will be revealed at the appropriate time.

Hah whats the point. Everyone knows it's Crawford and his NDP buddies

What exactly does agenda 21 have to do with anything? It was voted down dead issue people .I'll ask again whats the Cons positionon the NAU? cause it sure looks like they're in full support. Stock is in all the meetings and getting Canada all ready to be handed over to the US .You all ready for the prison economy and police state cause i'm not .Once again your only answer is this must be a NDP blog .What a joke .You people are nothing but sheep

Anonymous said...

Agenda 21 was voted down? Where, my dissembling, mendacious lefty friend? In fact the recent BC budget nearly follows it's chapter headings. You are obviously stuck on the side show if you think NAU is the main event. Two popularily elected officials in Europe, during the 30s, were both big on 3P. One in Germany the other in Italy...I think we all know how well that worked out for the world.

As for NAU, ask Jack to set up a committee...I saw his International trade critic was in town speaking to every subject that doesn't matter on the weekend...maybe he could get a clue and say a word or two on this if it's such a big deal. I happen to agree that it is a big deal, but not for the knee- jerk, milque-toast reasons you assert. But I guess if you are already irrelevant by self-definition. Get your facts straight.
