Betty's rebuttal unconvincing

Kamloops This Week just published an "open letter" to NDP Leader Jack Layton (who recently passed through Kamloops) from our M.P. Betty Hinton cautioned Layton to "get [his] facts straight to avoid looking foolish and out of the loop politically." Betty does get her facts straight. Unfortunately, she still comes off looking foolish. She reminds Layton she is "not a backbencher"; no, Betty sits in the second row and only six seats from the prime minister of the House of Commons. That's just grand. Too bad she sat in the front row and only four seats from Harper during the previous parliament, when she was in Opposition. Seems Betty's been demoted. Our voice in Ottawa brags about how Jack Layton can never see her when she's "speaking with national media." That's odd! Has Betty ever been on national TV or radio? No. She also claims that even if she were a backbencher, she would still have "far more influence than that of any member of the fourth party" – a not-so-subtle dig at Layton's position as head of the House's weakest faction in terms of numbers. Of course, that's laughable. When Jack Layton – for all his flaws – makes a major speech, it's broadcast all over Canada. When Betty speaks, she's lucky to have a few dozen people and three or four journalists. Really, though, we should all appreciate and be grateful for Betty's letter; it's possibly the only thing she's said or written in six years that wasn't a regurgitation of talking points scripted by either the Canadian Alliance or the Conservative Party. It's positively refreshing.

As the secretary to the Minister of Veteran affairs to which she so gladly boast I would like to share with everyone a true story, to which I was witness on November 11th 2006 in River Side Park:

My daughter is in the cadet corps, she is very proud to be a part of the Remembrance Day parade that was taking in Kamloops, her first. While the spectators honoured our veterans, proud parents of men and women serving, stood in the park to observe the laying of wreath there was not a sound to be heard. It was a very moving day for many, and being in the presence of veterans is humbling beyond description.

The Priest diligently called out the names of schools, clubs, and organizations that are present to play wreath for the occasion. Soon the priest came out to call for the ‘veteran’s affairs’ to step forward and lay a wreath. No one moved, and a gasp left more than a few mouths in the crowd, especially mine. I focused on Betty Hinton sitting in her front row seat at the service- and she was not moving.

On Remembrance Day, Betty Hinton was present to lay a wreath on HER behalf as the MP for Kamloops- but did not lay TWO wreaths, one on behalf of her Veteran Affairs minister who was obviously not present.

It was embarrassing and a surreal, an offence to everyone present, all those veterans, RCMP, military reservist, and kids in their cadet corps and those who are no longer with us. On her site she likes to boast of her ‘friends’ while taking picture with veterans, she even went so far as to attack the Liberal government for not lowering the flag when Veteran Ernest "Smokey" Smith died in 2005.

She should take care to not remind Jack Layton and others of her superiority and all mighty powers as secretary- when it was the secretary of veteran affairs that lack the foresight to bring two wreaths on Remembrance day!

Layton is a personable guy but he should get his facts straight when he comes here. Betty is our first parliamentary secretary since Sen Marchand had that position before he became Environment Minister.

When we had NDP Nelson Riis as our MP for 20 years, he was loved by the press but never got us anything. Then he traded on his good name and got many people to invest their savings in Rockport Homes that never went anywhere. A just reward for all his supporters!

So let me get this straight - if we elect Michael Crawford, he and Jack Layton are going to team up and get the airport funding for us? Get real! They must think the voters are smoking crack. Michael Crawford hasn't stopped campaigning for the job since he lost the last election. Everything he has said in the past year has been negative - why? BECAUSE HE HAS NOTHING POSITIVE TO OFFER! We had 20 years with Nelson Riis where the best economic development plan he could come up with was to force all the gas stations to go full-serve to reduce unemployment. Riis was good for flashing people a big smile and holding press conferences, but he did squat for the riding in 20 years. Crawford won't be any better. Let's not waste any more time with the NDP.

I'd love to see a poll on who crack smokers voted for in the last election.

Simply how much can an agency legally cost you to let an insurance plan holder out of his car insurance?
Normally , how much does your agency charge when anyone chooses to end and how much pressure can you use to keep them?
What are some tips or something like that we can say if our any individual has many months left on his active auto insurance policy? Undoubtedly, many of us are not going to wait until his renewal comes due each and every time.

I've ever liked things like sand clocks, lava lamps, and the like to well-wishing of just fritter away time staring at it as a cut of catharsis. In a opportunity, it helps me with meditation, to relieve emphasis and just fantasize just about nothing. That's why since I was a kid, in place of of dolls and cars I've eternally at ease more of such pieces like sand clocks, lava lamps, dulcet boxes etc. So I was most pleased when I establish the 2-Laser + LED Spry Manifest Laser Ace Gyroscope with Music Effects from DealtoWorld.com under the aegis the Toys section. It's like a melodic thump, a spinning better, and a radiance show all rolled into one. Which is great diversion! The gyroscope will spin object of around a minute. The laser explanation pretension with accompanying music makes this gyroscope a measure unique tiny that my friends be subjected to also been most amused with.

My dogs are also nice-looking outr?about the laser gyroscope I got from DealtoWorld.com. They evermore occupy oneself with the gyroscope as it spins, although at principal they kept barking at the laser slight show, and also because it produces music. But after they got tempered to it, they've stopped barking but virtuous maintain following the gyroscope whenever I start spinning it. Kids are also attractive amused next to it. On occasion it's good to take fun toys about the ancestry so that you can go away the toy on while the kids are being amused or playing with it while you live provide for food or fall heir to changed. The gyroscope is a particular such trinket with this purpose.

The gyroscope I bought from DealtoWorld.com has a dragon as a pattern on it, and produces a taper indicate with red, dispirited, and green colours. Pit oneself against a look at the pictures I've uploaded of the gyroscope with laser luminosity show. The music produced from the gyroscope is not that enormous but good adequacy to entertain any supplementary customer to the house. The gyroscope is red and black, making it look particular coolth, and measure arrogant with that dragon imprint.

The music flare show gyroscope runs on 6 LR44 batteries, which are replaceable anyway. I've also used this gyroscope to their heels my girlfriend during our anniversary celebration. I did the cheesy thing of decorating the hotel room with roses and when I led her in, I started up the gyroscope as affectionately so that the laser light register produces a dreamed-up effect. I also had some battery operated candles so all the moonlight effects created a sort of romanticist atmosphere. She loved it, at near the style, to my relief. I also bought the candles from DealtoWorld.com. These days it seems to be my non-performance shopping site for all gifts and ideas in compensation emotional occasions.

Since Christmas is coming, this laser radiance make clear gyroscope can maybe be a superb Christmas favour for the toddler or even the humour! Alternatively, the gyroscope can really be a kindly summation to the traditional Christmas decorations. I can fancy placing it adjoining the Christmas tree and maybe spinning it when guests hit town in the house. Looks like DealtoWorld.com is getting my subject yet again!
